Solving the Rubik's Revenge (4x4x4)

To solve the Rubik's Revenge takes only 3 steps! The cube may look a lot more complicated but it is actually very easy. I first came up with this method to solve my 5x5x5 cube and later adapted it to work for the 4x4x4 cube. I thought I had figured this method out on my own but it turns out I've seen the same solution on some other cube pages. So anyway here is my version of this method. Basically the way I solve the Revenge is get all the pieces into a state that can be solved like a normal Rubik's Cube. Here is how my method works. First I solve all the centers and get them into the right place. Then I line up all the edge pieces with their cooresponding edge piece of the same color. This makes one solid edge piece group that looks just like one large edge piece. Then I solve the cube as if it were a Rubik's Cube (3x3x3) only I treat each edge piece group as one edge piece, and each center piece group as one center piece. Using this method I can solve the revenge, on average, in under 2 minutes each time. My personal record with this method is 1 minute 11.27 seconds. I do a few things different in my speed solving that I haven't put here on the web yet, but once I finish working the bugs out of it I'll make sure to put it on here. For this method it's best to start with the pre-solution information before going on to the solution so you can understand the notation I will be using, and basic info on the cube.
